Why It's Important to Become
an Advocate
Many of the most important decisions affecting the education of our children are made outside of our communities. In Madison, legislators from across the state - from urban centers and from rural areas - have considerable control over issues critical to local schools. Sometimes the issue is about dollars. Sometimes it's about strategies. But it's always about our children.
Professional lobbyists, unions, politicians and other special interests all tug at the sleeves of legislators for attention. Whose voice will legislators hear? To whom will they be most responsive?
Parents, school leaders and citizens cannot afford to be overlooked by policymakers. SWSA exists to support and facilitate advocacy on behalf of Wisconsin's children.
